In my first year at University I was taught machine and sewing skills, this allowed me to understand fabrics, patterns and well known fabrics stores in different areas. Being able to sew was very important for me to be able to design costumes well, understanding how something would be made allowed my costumes to be more dynamic and clear for makers.

I have also been involved with helping out with alterations for live performances, sewing buttons and clasps onto capes and army patches onto trousers, its nice to be a small part of productions.
